MONTICELLO - The Monticello Business and Professional Association (MBPA) is busy planning Monticello's annual community-wide garage sales and has exciting changes in store. The date has been set for Saturday, September 13, and the MBPA wants to share the excitement.

The Monticello Community Center (former American Legion) has been reserved and will be available for anyone who would like to set up a booth with items for sale. Suggested participants include those who may not have enough items to host their own sale or who live in an area not easily accessible by shoppers. Space is also available for home party consultants, such as Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Avon, Stanley, etc. Any interested consultant is welcome, though preference will be given to local residents. The MBPA would also like to invite local gardeners and farmers to share their wares.

In conjunction with the annual garage sales, the MBPA is also inviting local businesses to participate in the second annual Taste of Monticello. Specials will be available throughout Main Street for shoppers to re-energize and sample the best of Monticello. Any participating business will be featured on the map.

This year the maps will be revised to include categories of items for sale and will be available for shoppers to pick up at various locations. All registrants will receive a sign that clearly indicates their participation in the community-wide sales. Mark your calendars now, and watch for more information.
