MONROE - Leah Houston, Monroe, is hosting a Valentine's Date Night For A Cure event starting at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 at Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St. to help support the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer effort.
The cost is $30 per couple and includes dinner and a movie. Proceeds benefit the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer. Houston will participate as the Hope Walks team walks 39.3 miles June 2-3 in Chicago.
The dinner event is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The menu includes a Caesar salad; choice of heart-shaped chicken breast with strawberry champagne cream sauce or apple, pear and bacon stuffed pork loin medallions topped with a Bourbon mushroom gravy; Asian-style green bans or orange-glazed baby carrots; baked potato; and chocolate tarte with raspberry reduction sauce.
A movie, to be determined, will begin at 8 p.m. Free childcare is available.
