MONROE - The Green County Genealogical Society meeting will be held at 10 a.m. July 1 in the second-floor meeting room of the Monroe Public Library.
Janette Hartman will speak on the 1832 journey of the Emma Rudolf family, immigrants from Switzerland, through St. Louis up the Fever River area, finally making their way to New Glarus. Their experiences are similar to those of other immigrants.
Hartman wasn't able to make the June meeting and agreed to come to the July 1 meeting. She also will speak about the hamlet known as Hamilton and the family after which it was named. Hartman is the former curator/administrator of the Iowa County Wisconsin Society Museum with an interest in and knowledge of the early history of southwestern Wisconsin.
Visitors are always welcome and there is no cost to attend. Call Sharon Mitchell at 815-868-2416 or Donna Kjendlie at 608-921-1537 with questions.
