Students to drive robot for Precision Championship

MONROE - Students from Brodhead, Black Hawk, Monroe and Lena-Winslow will partner with Monroe Clinic providers to drive the da Vinci robot during the Precision Champion-ship at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3 in the hospital lobby, 515 22nd Ave., Monroe.

The "Precision Champion-ship" teams include:

n Team Girl Power: Rachel Heller, 18, a senior at Brodhead High School, is representing the Brodhead Volleyball team. Heller is the daughter of Theresa Heller and Jon Heller. Her Monroe Clinic coach is ob-gyn Jane Sorokin, MD.

n Team Endurance Elite: Jake Hirsbrunner, 18, a senior at Monroe High School, is representing the Monroe Cross Country team. Hirsbrunner is the son of Cory Hirsbrunner and Dave Hirsbrunner. His Monroe Clinic coach is ob-gyn John Bazley, MD.

n Team Dynamic Duo: Jordan Monson, 17, a junior at Black Hawk High School, is representing the Black Hawk Football team. Monson is the son of Steve and Mindy Monson. His Monroe Clinic coach is General Surgeon Andrew Rikkers, DO.

n Team Brainiac Force: Noah Schoaf, 17, a junior at Lena-Winslow High School, is representing the Le-Win Scholastic Bowl team. Schoaf is the son of Dr. Dan and Tami Schoaf. His Monroe Clinic coach is Urologist Nathan Moore, MD.

Members of the community are able to drive the da Vinci robot from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 3.
