MONROE - Six juniors from Albany High School joined students from throughout Green County to participate in Government Day on Tuesday.
The day was hosted by members of the American Legion, and lunch was provided to the students by the Auxiliary. The students toured the Green County Justice Center and the jail. Presentations were given by members of the county health department, emergency management team and sheriff's department. The culminating event was a mock trial dealing with the issue of texting threatening messages and the consequences that can result from that under the law.
Students participating were Marley Malkow, Halie Lyons, Allie Lent, Andrew Berra, Sydnee Woyak and Jake Lyle.
