MONTICELLO — The Monticello Chamber of commerce held a ribbon cutting last week for the Monticello Veterinary Clinic as they moved into their new building, 480 N Pratt Rd.
Dr. Danyelle Bollig grew up on large dairy farm in Brodhead. She is the daughter of Jeff and Jan Williams. She went to vet school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and had intended on being a large animal vet and going back to the home farm.
“Life threw a curve ball as it often does, and I ended up taking a small animal corporate job in Madison and to say the least, it wasn’t for me,” Dr. Bollig said. “I found an opening at Green Pastures for mixed animal in 2015 and took that. I mentioned to Tim and Dee Bruns that if they ever wanted to sell, I would be interested in buying. Little did I know, I was a new business owner a short 6 months later. I will be forever grateful to them for all of this.”
Bollig married her husband Tyler four months later, and then had two children: Paxley, 19 months, and Oaklynn, 6 months.
“I am beyond excited to be in the new clinic and want to thank every single client and the community for their continued support, prior to the building and with the transition into the new place.
Bollig thanked several people for their hard work in getting the business up and running, including customer service rep Amy Robinson, vet tech Bri Kehoe, Dr. Holter and wife Jamie, Priority Builders and Greenwoods State Bank.
Building the new clinic had been in the plans ever since buying the practice in Jan. 2018. The new facility, with a parking lot and lawn, is roughly four to five times larger than the current location.
