FREEPORT - Kick off a great day at FHN's Pretzel City Festival by competing in the YMCA/FHN Kids' Duathlon and Triathlon Saturday, June 27 in Freeport. Kids may compete as individuals or as part of a team in this fun event that includes running and biking and a swim for triathlon participants (duathlon participants don't swim, but take part in the running and biking portions of the race).
The fun begins with race-day registration and warm-up at 7 a.m. at the Family YMCA of Northwest Illinois located at Highland Community College, 2998 W. Pearl City Road, Freeport. A pre-race meeting will be held at 8:15 before the race start at 8:30 a.m. The race will end at Freeport's Krape Park.
Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a participation prize; medals and special awards will be presented within each category. The awards will be handed out at 11 a.m. at the band shell in Krape Park.
