Pumpkin fest includes carnival, parade, food

WARREN - The 41st annual Warren Pumpkin Festival will be held Sept. 23 to 25, along the Historic Stagecoach Trail, Warren. The schedule of events for the festival is as follows:

Friday, Sept. 23

- 5:30 p.m. - Home Football Game vs. Aquin

Saturday, Sept. 24

- 8 a.m. - Pumpkin Run/Walk, Meridian Park. Sign-in starts at 7 a.m.

- 10 a.m. - Carnival Opens

- 10 a.m. - Farmer's Market Opens, parking lot by the community building

- 10 a.m. - Arts and crafts booths open, Main Street sidewalks

- 11 a.m. - Parade line-up starts at fairgrounds. No pre-registration required; just line up at the Fairgrounds

- Noon - Crowning of king, queen, prince and princess, stage at Apple River State Bank

- 1 p.m. - Parade starts. After the parade: euchre (Warren Community Building) and chicken chase (behind the little ball diamond)

- 3 p.m. - Cub Scouts Cub Mobil races/soapbox derby, Main Street in front of Smiley's Pub

- 7 p.m. - Fire Department Monthly Steak Fry, Firehouse on Warren Street

Sunday, Sept. 25

- 10 a.m. - Carnival opens

- 10 a.m. - Arts and crafts booths open, Main Street sidewalks

- 11 a.m. - Iron Anchor tractor pull, across from The Olde Hotel

- 11 a.m. - Warren Lions Club BBQ, Warren Firehouse, serving until it is all gone

- 1 to 4 p.m. - Carnival unlimited ride wristband ($15)

- 1 p.m. - Bean bag tournament, Smiley's Pub. Info: (815) 541-8261
