BRODHEAD - The Next Generation 4-H Club hosted a fishing fun day Saturday at Headgates Park outside of Brodhead.
Several families attended and enjoyed wonderful weather, fishing and a picnic at noon.
Despite the many poles that were in the water, only one fish was caught. With the new improvements that have been made to the park in recent years, it was a good location for the event.
The Next Generation 4-H group plans to host more events this year as a thank you to its members and their families for the work done throughout the year with community service and fundraising.
The group's next fishing date is May 13 at Cadiz Springs State Park in Browntown. There are also plans for a scavenger hunt at Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison and a fall trip to Skelly's Pumpkin Patch in Janesville.
