MONROE — Main Street Monroe is pulling out all the stops for the next Concert on the Square on Saturday, August 21. Get ready for a big day with three bands on stage on the north side of the Square, fun and entertainment for kids, chalk artists, and games.

Roll out the barrel: 

The David Austin Band will be squeezing out the tunes starting at 1 p.m. David has performed with the International Main Street Polka Band and the Roger Bright Band. Bring your dancing shoes, and polka with the Green County Dairy Queens.  

Sha Boom: 

Next on the main stage: the Doo Wop Daddies from 3-6 p.m. Mike “Guido” Sturino has been leading this group since 1999. They’ve been regulars at Summerfest and Wisconsin State Fair. The Daddies brought down the house at the last Cheese Days festival, and they’re back on the schedule for 2022.

Mamma Mia: 

The ultimate ABBA tribute begins when Dancing Queen takes the stage at 6:30 p.m. Dancing Queen’s show is a joyful celebration of timeless tunes you’ll be singing along with, plus the fabulous fashions of the 1970’s.

Chalk it up: 

Watch as “chalk on pavement” masterpieces are created on the northwest corner of the Historic Green County Courthouse property. Main Street is proud to be planning for new and exciting events in 2022.Get a sneak peek of summer 2022’s Chalkfest with local artists at the northwest corner of the courthouse.

Bring the kids:  

Jason the Comedy Juggler presents a fun and interactive show at 2:30 PM, and he’ll be back from 4-6 p.m. with Bubble Making. Both activities are sponsored by the John & Katie Baumann Inspiration Project.

Meet the Green County Dairy Queens:  These agricultural ambassadors will introduce themselves on stage and host an ag trivia game, with cheesy prizes, of course.

An assortment of regional and local brews at the Main Street Beer Garden, “Master’s Grilled Cheese Sandwiches” for sale at the National Historic Cheesemaking Center Trailer (served by the Boy Scouts), energizing teas from Everest Nutrition, popcorn and sweet treats from Rainbow Confections, top notch pizza by the slice from Bullets, a big blowout clearance sale with Green County Cheese Days merchandise, and glow necklaces for kids as the sun goes down.

Concerts on the Square are underwritten by Colony Brands, Inc. Proceeds from the Main Street Beer Garden which will be open from 1-9 p.m. with two locations help to offset costs of all the programs and events that make Main Street Monroe your favorite place to shop, dine, socialize, and be entertained.
