MADISON - Taylor Behnke, a member of the New Glarus 4-H Club and a senior at New Glarus High School, was named the Green County 4-H Crowley Leadership Award winner for the 2013-14 4-H year.
As the county winner, Behnke will earn the chance to compete for state-level awards, including a chance to compete for two $500 scholarships that will be awarded for continuing dairy education. The state competition will consist of interviews conducted during the Wisconsin State Fair in August.
Behnke is the daughter of Roger and Lisa Behnke, and is a nine-year member of the New Glarus 4-H Club. She was selected for her accomplishments in her school and community, along with her accomplishments relating to the dairy industry. Behnke plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Madison to study nursing this fall.
The James W. Crowley Dairy Management and Extension Fund sponsored the 4-H dairy award program. James W. Crowley was a longtime UW-Extension dairy specialist and strong supporter of dairy youth project work.
