MONROE - Monroe Theatre Guild's summer comedy, "Noises Off" opens at 7:30 p.m., Friday, June 24 at the new MTG Theatre, 910 16th Ave., Monroe. The classic, three-act play about a play is directed by Chris Weis, who has led the cast actors through two months of rehearsals.

The cast includes:Denise Plantenberg, as Dottie Otley/Mrs.Clackett; Tim Schaab, as Lloyd Dallas; Andy Stoffels, as Garry Lajeune/Roger; Tammie Smiley, as Brook Ashton/Vickie; Morgan Franson, as Poppy Norton; Dale Ripley, as Frederick Fellowes/Philip; Laura Jacobson, as Belinda Blair/Flavia; Andrew Rocheleau, as Tim Allgood; and Ted Scheffer, as Selson Mowbray/Burglar

Noises Off was written by playwright Michael Frayn. The plot plays on the concept of a play within a play (in this case, a sex comedy titled "Nothing On"). Each of the three acts of "Noises Off" contains a performance of the first act of "Nothing On."

Parental guidance is recommended for children under 13 due to some minor language and adult situations.

The performance will showcase many new features of the MTG theatre space. The show itself has a two-story set that spins around for the audience to see the performance from both the front in Acts one and two and the backside for Act Two.
