Monroe: UW alumni hold Founder's Day dinner

MONROE - The Wisconsin Alumni Association Green County Chapter held their annual Founder's Day dinner April 29 at the Monroe Country Club.

The purposes of the club are to raise money for scholarships for Green County students attending University of Wisconsin-Madison and plan educational and social events for UW alumni and friends of the university.

Representatives from the Wisconsin Alumni Association and the UW Foundation attended and greeted guests.

Guest speaker Professor Randy Fortenberry from the UW College of Ag and Life Sciences addressed the "Challenges and Opportunities of Biofuels."

Fifty year members were recognized. Current chapter officers are Mandy Pas, president; Dave Mosher, vice president; Ed Pas, secretary; and Mike Klassy, treasurer. Other board members are Bob Crandall, Teri LaBorde, Bill Hustad, Douglas Pinnow, James Scrivner, Kris Baumgartner, Dr. Ray Pawlisch, Jack Pierce and Maureen Dembski.

All UW-Madison graduates residing or working in Green County are invited to become involved in the organization and participate in activities.
