MONROE - Monroe Public Library invites students in Monroe Middle School and Monroe High School to join their friends at a teen group planning session at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, January 11, in the library's meeting room.
Topics for discussion will include forming a teen book group, ideas for the Late Night @ The Library program, and performance opportunities with the Motley Fools Readers Theater Group and the Library's Puppet Players.
"We encourage students to bring any ideas for programs they would like to explore. DDR dance lessons, Guitar Hero, movies, games, or new skills workshops are some of the topics library staff have suggested," Youth Services Librarian Kris Ault said. "We hope to make 2008 an exciting year for teens at the library but we need their input to make it possible."
Ault and Nancy Myers, Youth Services Assistant will be on hand to facilitate the one-hour meeting. Refreshments will be served. Teens who cannot attend are asked to jot down their ideas and put them in the Great Idea boxes in the teen reading area or the Children's Room.
