MONROE - Andrea J. Schmitz has been named the youth services coordinator at the Monroe Public Library.
Previously a librarian with the Verona Area School District, Schmitz will bring knowledge about children and their educational needs to the children's room and the Monroe community, according to a news release. As an educator interested in innovation and imagination, she will build upon the tradition of children's programming at the library.
Schmitz received her master's degree in library and information studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
She begins her duties on Aug. 1.
