Monroe High School held its fall chorale concert on Tuesday, Oct. 24 in the Performing Arts Center. Alex Lentz leads the chorale department, and Mary Soddy was the accompanist. The three choirs — Vocal Jazz, Concert Choir and Chamber Choir — together performed “Hheshe” by Mpumelelo Manyathi. Vocal Jazz (34 students) performed two pieces, Concert Choir (37 students) sang three songs, and Chamber Choir (25 students) performed four songs. Upcoming chorale department performances include Nov. 11 Veteran’s Day Ceremony; Nov. 18 Vocal Jazz MAC Performance; Dec. 1 Downtown Christmas Parade; and Dec. 15-16 at the Holiday Extravaganza. In 2024, the choir will perform in Addam’s Family Feb. 23-25; Pops Concert Feb. 29; District Solo/Ensemble at the middle school March 16; and the Spring Concert May 21.
