Monroe Clinic accepting scholarship applications

MONROE - Monroe Clinic is offering two types of scholarships for students seeking a career in a health-related field. The deadline for application submission for the scholarships is March 15.

Monroe Clinic Volunteers In Partnership is awarding four $500 scholarships to graduating high school seniors each year. Applications are available from counselors at high schools in Green or Lafayette counties and Stephenson, Jo Daviess or Winnebago counties in Illinois.

Applications for five $1,500 scholarships are now being accepted for Monroe Clinic's service area college students. Applicants must have completed at least one year of study beyond high school, in a health-related field and be one of the following:

n A resident of a community with a Monroe Clinic location

n A resident within Monroe Clinic's service area

n An employee or the child of a Monroe Clinic employee

The applicants are selected on scholastic merit, citizenship, need and expressed interest in the healthcare field. Applications are reviewed by a three-member scholarship committee and remain confidential. The $1,500 scholarship is paid directly to the recipient's school.

Students who have received a $500 scholarship in the past are eligible to apply for the advance study scholarship. However, an individual may receive each scholarship only once. Applications are available at monroeclinic.org/news.
