MONROE - The Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2015 Excellence Scholarship will be awarded to Monroe High School student Elise Rossing.
Rossing will be recognized at a luncheon hosted by U.S. Senator Herb Kohl Sunday.
The purpose of the scholarship program is to recognize student leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement and academic achievement. Students are evaluated on their leadership, citizenship, school and community involvement and academic achievement, as well as their ability to clearly articulate goals in each of four areas: future educational goals, personal life goals, community/society service goals and career goals.
Each year the Herb Kohl Foundation awards 100 students throughout Wisconsin with $3,000 Excellence Scholarships. Since it was established in 1990, the Herb Kohl Educational Foundation has awarded over $9 million to Wisconsin students, teachers and schools.
