Master Gardeners tour Scotch Hill Farm

BRODHEAD - The Green County Master Gardeners will tour Scotch Hill Farm at 7 p.m., Thursday. Scotch Hill Farm is located at 910 Scotch Hill Road, three miles outside of Brodhead. Since 1994, the Tony and Dela Ends family have practiced Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) on their family farm. They organically raise more than 100 varieties of vegetables and herbs.

CSA's operate by selling subscriptions of fresh produce. Scotch Hill Farm customers receive over four pounds of 10-15 varieties of fresh vegetables and herbs each week. The Ends family and farm interns plant, tend, harvest, wash, bag and deliver produce to drop-off sites near subscribers homes. For each delivery, subscribers pay a set fee. This fee stays the same all season.

The Ends family also raise Nigerian Dwarf ad Oberhasli dairy goats from which they make soap from the goats' milk.

The public is welcome to attend the monthly master gardener meetings. Learn more about Scotch Hill Farm and Community Supported Agriculture by checking their Web site at www.scotchhillfarm.com.
