MONROE - Clayton Mahlkuch, a member of the Juda Jolly Juniors 4-H club and a junior at Juda High School, has won the Green County 4-H Crowley Dairy Leadership Award for 2017.

As a county winner, Mahlkuch will receive a commemorative engraved medallion and the chance to compete for state-level awards, including two $500 scholarships that will be awarded for continuing dairy education. The state competition will consist of interviews conducted at the Wisconsin State Fair in August.

Mahlkuch was selected for his outstanding accomplishments in dairy project record-keeping, response to questions related to the dairy industry, involvement in dairy activities, quality of leadership and variety of interest in projects outside of the dairy project.

The James W. Crowley Dairy Management and Extension Fund sponsors this 4-H dairy award program. Crowley was a long-time University of Wisconsin-Extension dairy specialist and a strong supporter of dairy youth project work.
