MONROE — The Monroe Arts Center will be holding an Alla Primi Plein Air Still Life Workshop from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 19. This class encompasses the idea of leaving the four walls of a studio behind to experience painting in landscape.
Award winning painter, Bethann Moran Handzlik will be the instructor for this course. Attendees can view her work at the Monroe Arts Center starting on Friday, Nov. 18 for the gallery opening of Between Stone and Star in the Wellington/Muranyi gallery.
The workshop will be held outside, with an indoor back up plan. The workshop will start with a short demonstration, and then all painters will be able to start their own work. This class will provide a positive environment, allowing each individual painter to work at their own pace in order to best improve their own skillset. This workshop is open to all levels. The registration fee for this course is $100 per person. MAC Scholarships are available. Interested in learning more, visit monroeartscenter.com or call 608-325-5700.
