Wis. unemployment rate declines to 5% in November

MADISON — The Department of Workforce Development (DWD) released Dec. 17 the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) preliminary employment estimates for the month of November. The data shows that Wisconsin total non-farm jobs and private-sector jobs decreased by 3,900 and 1,000 in the month, respectively. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate for Nov. was 5%, down from 6% in Oct. 

Wisconsin’s labor force participation rate in Nov. was 66.9, 5.4% higher than the national rate of 61.5%. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate in Nov. 5%, while the national unemployment rate in Nov. 6.7%. 

Wisconsin total non-farm jobs decreased in the month of Nov. by 3,900, while private-sector jobs decreased by 1,000 during the same time period.
