MONTICELLO — The Monticello Area Historical Society (MAHS) will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27 in the Zwingli UCC, 416 E. Lake Ave., Monticello.

Following a short business meeting, Doug Buehl, one of the co-owners of the Robert Buehl Conservancy, will share his insights on local history gleaned from his research of Bob’s Back 80: A Journey through Mt. Pleasant History.

Research on a specific property can sometimes reveal fascinating connections. An isolated 80 acre parcel in Mt. Pleasant Township, owned by Bob Buehl for over five decades, provides a case study in how many local historical figures and events can intersect.

This is a free presentation and will start about 7:15 p.m. The public is welcome to attend both activities.
