DARLINGTON — The Lafayette County Historical Society’s annual membership meeting will be held at 1 p.m. Oct. 3 at the lower level of the Historical Museum, 525 Main St.
Special guest speaker, Carol March McLernon, a local author, will be speaking on her many books about the county’s history. There will be entertaining lies and tall tales suitable for all ages.
McLernon grew up on a farm south of Shullsburg where she attended school in a ghost town. After graduating from Shullsburg High School and Platteville Teachers’ College, she did her graduate work at UW-Whitewater. She taught children in the Lake Geneva area for many years.
Don’t mind the construction, there is easy parking on both sides and behind the museum with stairless access.
