MADISON — Groups from Osseo-Fairchild High School, Darlington Middle School, and Darlington High School are among 17 teams from across Wisconsin and northern Illinois slated to participate next month in the Wisconsin KidWind Challenge, a hands-on design competition.

Each team designed and constructed small-scale wind turbines to be measured for energy output in a competition-grade wind tunnel and presented to a panel of expert judges. Teams will also compete in instant challenges testing teamwork and hands-on thinking, as well as hear from leading experts on careers in clean energy.

Performance at this challenge may provide a chance for teams to compete in the 2023 National Challenge held in Boulder this May.

KidWind Challenge participants will discover the promise of wind energy technology; design, build and test a functional creative wind turbine; and compete with their peers in a supportive environment.

●  When: Saturday, March 4th, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
