Friends of Badger, Sugar River Trails to meet

NEW GLARUS — the next meeting for Friends of the Badger and Sugar River State Trail will be at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the park shelter at New Glarus Woods State Park.

In this setting, they will share information about activities on the trails, talk about what they should tackle next, and recruit new board members for 2024 and beyond.

Those that haven’t been to a Friends’ meeting yet, or aren’t sure what they do, they partner on numerous projects with local communities and the Wisconsin DNR. Projects include trail maintenance, educational programming, trail advocacy, and more. 

For those not yet a members of the Friends’ group, but are considering joining, membership fees are modest ($10-$15, and less for seniors). If paying for a membership through the Friends’ group, a portion of that membership goes to fund the trail activities mentioned above. To join, just visit the Friends’ website, and click on the Membership tab.
