SOUTH WAYNE – The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 1 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 5 at St. John’s Catholic Church, 304-306 Pleasant St. 

Appointments are preferred. For an appointment call 1-800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org. Walk ins will be taken depending on availability.

Donors are encouraged to wait for the next open slot. The need for blood remains high, officials said, especially after tornadoes that hit several states recently. Participants are also asked to bring a form of identification.
