MONROE - The Literacy Council of Green County Ltd. held its annual meeting and family potluck April 17. Volunteer tutors donated almost 1,500 hours to help others learn the English language. The Spirit Award recognizes those who have been strong advocates and supporters of the program.

Spirit Award recipients for 2016 are Monroe Clinic, Bob and Mary Severson and Duxstad and Bestul S.C.
