LENA - The banks of Foresight Financial Group, Inc.; Lena State Bank; State Bank, Freeport; German American State Bank; State Bank of Davis; and Northwest Bank of Rockford are teaming up to sponsor the VIP tent at the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition building site on Monday, Sept. 14 just west of Lena.
The recipients of the new home, the Stott family, are strong believers in giving back to the community and helping others, and so are the community banks of the Foresight Financial Group.
The VIP tent is a special viewing area close to the construction of a new home for the Stott family. Bank representatives will welcome other donors and contractors with snacks and refreshments. The bank also will conduct a mini-fundraiser, with proceeds going to the Stott family.
The banks are assisting in taking donations for an opportunity to view the home prior to the "Big Reveal," when the Stott family views the new home for the first time. Tickets are available at all Foresight Financial Group bank locations at $5 each or five tickets for $20.
In addition to accepting donations at all locations for the project, they are assisting in taking donations for winning an opportunity to view the home prior to the "Big Reveal," when the Stott family views the new home for the first time. Tickets are available at all of the Foresight Financial Group bank locations at $5 each or 5 tickets for $20. Proceeds will be donated toward the SportsPlex athletic facility in Freeport, a designated charity of the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition builder, Hasken Construction of Freeport.
The banks also are participating in a food drive, contributing to the goal of collecting 6 tons of food in 6 days in conjunction with the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Area pantries that will share in the collected bounty include the Freeport Area Church Cooperative, the United Churches of Galena Food Pantry, Stockton Community Food Pantry, the Lena Food Pantry, the Pearl City Outreach Food Pantry, and the German Valley Food Pantry. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at any of the bank locations during normal business hours.
