LCHGS annual membership meeting well attended

DARLINGTON — Approximately 20 people attended the annual membership meeting and program on the History of the American Legion presented by Dan O’Brien, Nov. 5. Members were updated on the Society’s latest activities, financial health, and plans for 2024.  

Then the Board of Directors, effective January 2024, was elected including officers:  Ray Scott (President), Tammy Kilby (Vice-President), Shirley Holland (Secretary/treasurer), Jeanette Zee, Nikki Larson, Sarah Goebel, Margaret Pyfer, Nancy Winslow, Richard March, Jack Shannon, Ursula Hymes-Fecht, Judy Hastie, Barb Nemec, and Bill Holland.  

The Board of Directors was enlarged when the Genealogy and Historical societies merged to ensure all perspective were represented. In addition to the board, Marion Howard is consultant to the board and a regular volunteer. Peggy Davis, Ursula Hymes-Fecht, and Dave Blaser are staff at the museums, where June Hancock is a regular volunteer.
