MONROE - Customers and friends of the local yarn shop celebrated the Christmas season by making a donation for a bear pattern and knitting a bear. Over 30 knitters from three states were involved in crafting bears.
Each bear was hand crafted and then returned to the shop for display in the holiday window. The bears will be taken to residence at the Green County Child Advocacy Center where they will be given to children in need.
The Green County Child Advocacy Center provides community-based, ongoing services to help children and families stay together. The center provides a child-friendly, child-focused facility that assists families in development of skills to reach the goal and ensures that children are protected and not further victimized.
Donations totaled $110. A check for the amount will be presented to a representative of the Green County Humane Society.
