Kat Trio to perform at Monroe church Sunday

MONROE - The Kat Trio will perform during 8 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services Sunday at Monroe United Methodist Church, 2227 4th St.

Between services, from 9:10 to 9:30 a.m., Victoria Gorbich (violin), Vladislav Gorbich (clarinet), and Joseph Ross (piano) will present a mini-concert, featuring classical favorites, inspirational melodies and selections from their CD "A Kat Trio Christmas."

The violin-clarinet-piano ensemble from Ekaterinburg, Russia was formed in May 1998 in Ekaterinburg by three friends - Victoria Gorbich, Vladislav Gorbich and Vasil Galiulin (piano). They had just graduated from the Ural State Music Conservatory. Today "The Kat Trio" is Victoria, Vladislav and pianist Joseph Ross.

Victoria and Vlad are doctoral graduates of Arizona State University. Joseph is a graduate of Lawrence University and the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, Hungary.
