JUDA - The School District of Juda has recently been re-authorized to maintain its Advanced Placement designation on its AP Calculus course for the 2013-14 academic year. The school district will be offering AP Calculus for the fifth consecutive year.
All schools wanting to label a course "AP" must submit the subject-specific AP Course Audit form and the course syllabus for each teacher of that AP course to be sure it meets or exceeds the expectations of colleges and universities. Every year thereafter, the College Board needs to re-authorize the course to guarantee it meets the guidelines on curricular and resource requirements.
Scott Anderson, a teacher at Juda School since 2006, submitted the course's syllabus for approval in 2007. AP Calculus has been re-approved every year since.
Admissions officers from colleges use the AP Course Audit results to determine the extent to which students avail themselves of rigorous course work.
