JUDA - Juda High School participated in a Tri-State Math Team Competition on Wednesday, Nov. 5, at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Each school had two teams, a freshmen/sophomore team and a junior/senior team. Juda School placed first in Division 4.
Scott Anderson, the high school math teacher, said, "It was a real thrill to win the meet. We were in second place after the individual event, but we stormed back as a team to win. We have been practicing since the start of the school year, and the students really performed well."
The team had 22 members: seniors, Veronica Bartels, Celine Martin, and Jacob Ramos; juniors, Heather Boeke, Tanner Gilbert, Tyler Hanson, Elliot Klar, Katy Knudtson, Mandy Kopp, Brittany Lahaie, Caleb Vazquez, and Zach Wallace; sophomores, Josh Marass, Josh McHoes, Aly Pierce, Jacob Reckamp, Dan Schumacher, and Megan Trotter; and freshmen, Katlyn Devoe, Alex Gobeli, Ellen Kiser, and Cody Stuckey.
The next event scheduled is the Six Rivers East Conference Math Meet in Juda on Tuesday, March 17.
