FREEPORT - Each year the Northwest Illinois Audubon Society, in partnership with the University of Illinois Extension Stephenson County, is looking for local growers for the 2014 Local Foods Brochure.
The local foods brochure provides people in northwest Illinois with a resource that can be used to identify farmers and growers who sell their food items directly to the consumer. The brochure helps connect local buyers with local growers. The 2013 brochure had 43 growers listed and included growers with maple syrup, cheese, honey, eggs, poultry, vegetables, flowers, fruit, wine and meat.
