GCHS Pet-A-Thon is June 1 at SLICE

MONROE - Dancing dogs, jumping dogs, dogs that make you feel better - there will a dog of every variety and reason (plus some pretty cute and cuddly cats) at the Green County Humane Society's first ever Pet-A-Thon Sunday, June 1 at SLICE.

Demonstrations planned for the event include Music Freestyle by the Badger Kennel Club; dog obedience by JTK Dog Obedience; dog agility and therapy dogs.

The Green County Sheriff's K-9 unit will be on hand, as well as a demonstration of horse massage and other vendors.

Information about helping GCHS through volunteering will also be available through a special volunteer fair at the Pet-A-Thon.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 1.

SLICE is located at 1632 4th Ave. West, Monroe. The event is free and open to the public.

GCHS operates its animal shelter at 1500 6 1/2 Ave. in Monroe.

Hours of operation are from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and from noon to 5 p.m. Thursday through Sunday. It is closed Monday, Wednesday and holidays.
