MONROE — The Green County Historical Society Museum 1617 9th St located in the old Universalist Church will reopen on Saturday and Sunday, September 4-5, after being closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Plans are to be open weekend afternoons 1-4 p.m. during September and October with current pandemic protocols in place.
Only the lower level of the museum will be publicly accessible and has been completely reorganized for this opening. New displays include recognizable kitchen antiques, toys, cameras, phones, Monroe High School memorabilia, musical instruments, family history references, military items, outstanding local sports figures and our featured display of local 1952 Summer Olympian gymnast Marie Blumer Hoesly. Also featured are items from local resident David Babler’s torch bearing run for the Utah Winter Olympics in 2005.
A ramp has been installed to make the museum wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair available.
Stop in and see the updated displays. The museum has also created a “Gift Shop” area with many antique items for sale.
Parking and entry in the rear or through the front gate. Admission is free, although donations are much appreciated.
