MONROE – Green County EMS educated Woodford State Bank employees on CCR training during their all-employee training day on Monday, Feb. 20. Employees of Woodford State Bank took an hour to learn the CCR demonstration from the Green County EMS. CCR stands for Cardio-Cerebral Resuscitation and differs from the traditional CPR in the way that CPR delivers mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. Studies have shown that CCR keeps blood moving to the hearts and brains of cardiac arrest victims. Stopping chest compressions to give mouth-to-mouth may waste precious time.
The Green County EMS is the primary 9-1-1 ambulance service for Monroe and a large part of Green County. Green County EMS is mostly volunteer/paid-on-call service and they do not receive any tax money. They are always looking for new members and opportunities to educate the community. If interested in a demonstration, volunteering or applying with the Green County EMS, visit www.greencountyems.org. Below are some photos from the training day.
Lacy Gilbertson, Marketing & Fitness Coordinator with the YMCA, talked about best practices for nutrition and demonstrated stretching and fitness exercises. Luke Smetters, Membership & Community Engagement Director with the YMCA, discussed corporate memberships and benefits for employees.
