MONROE - The Future Forward Green County annual meeting will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 at Monroe Clinic Hospital in the New Glarus Room.
A dinner, sponsored by the Monroe Clinic, runs from 5:30 to 6 p.m. The meeting begins at 6 p.m; and the agenda will include an election for the board of directors and setting an action plan for the upcoming year.
Future Forward is an organization dedicated to retaining, attracting, and engaging the next generation of Green County. The group first formed in 2007 after Rebecca Ryan, of Next Generation Consulting, presented strategies to attract and retain today's young workforce.
"We are losing younger workers to other communities. The goal of this effort is to bring back young professionals who may be originally from this area and who see it as a place worth returning to. At the same time, we hope our efforts will attract and retain new professionals who see Green County as a desirable place to live and work," said Anna Schramke, Executive Director of Green County Development Corporation.
Those interested in improving the future quality of life in our communities is welcome to attend the meeting and learn more about volunteer opportunities with the organization. There are a number of committees and projects in place where help is needed, including the development of an area job bank as well as a targeted postcard mailing that highlights reasons to come back to Green County.
Reservations to Nikki Matley at (608) 329-2071 are appreciated in advance of the event. For more information about Future Forward Green County, visit www.futureforwardgc.com or www.greencountyspotlight.com or contact Matley at (608) 329-2071 or Sheila Berrey at (608) 328-8629.
