Fire dept. to hold 108th anniversary celebration

NEW GLARUS - The New Glarus Fire Department will celebrate its 108th anniversary Saturday, July 31, at the New Glarus Fire Station. A full day of activities are scheduled.• 10:30 a.m., food stand opens; fire truck rides begin; kids fire house and kids water fights• Noon, Bucket Brigade• 1 p.m., firefighter/adult water fights• 3 p.m., sparring (boxing) featuring local talent• 3 to 7 p.m., music by The Greenfield Brothers• 5 p.m., steak fry begins until all are served• 8 p.m. to midnight, music by Electric Blue• 11 p.m., raffle drawing• Midnight, festivities concludeAll activities in the morning and afternoon are free. The steak feed is $12 per person.
