BRODHEAD — Every year the Veterans of Foreign Wars sponsors a contest for high school student called the Voice of Democracy. The contest involves a 3-minute speech on a chosen topic from the national headquarters. This year’s topic was “America, where do we go from here?” The VFW Post 6858 in Brodhead had three entries this year: Isabella, Alicia and Melana Brunton, all seniors from Monroe High School.

The VFW Post 6858 in Brodhead and its commander Joel Steinmann congratulate all three ladies on a wonderful job and great speeches. Isabella’s speech was summited to represent the local post at the district level.
