Fall Gathering set for Oct. 6

Six trees on North Fourth Street in Smith Park are scheduled to be removed as part of the reconstruction project. Signs on the trees seek preservation of the trees.

ARGYLE — The Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are hosting the Monroe Conference Fall Gathering Oct. 6 at the Adams Lutheran Church, N7148 County A, Argyle. 

The program’s featured speaker is Lisa Schweitzer, RN, MS, director of Monroe Clinic Hospice Residential Home. 

Participants may donate to a free-will offering to support the hospice. 

Mission reports will be given by conference officers Liaison Janean Hill and Synodical President Helen Sheahan. 

Registration and refreshments will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. followed by the program. 

Lunch will be at noon. A fee will be charged for lunch and served by the Adams Women of the ELCA. This event is open to the public. Reservations can be made by calling Joyce Moen, conference co-coordinator, at 608-527-5725.
