DARLINGTON - Fourth-grade students and teachers from 12 area school districts will visit Cottonwood Dairy, South Wayne, on Thursday for the fifth annual Lafayette County Day at the Dairy.

The day is sponsored by a group of local dairy producers to provide an educational experience about dairy farming in Lafayette County. These farms include Cottonwood Dairy LLC; Darlington Ridge Farms LLC; Highway Dairy Farms LLC; and Redrock-View Farms. Additional local sponsors have been secured to pay for educational material, lunch and transportation expenses.

Students will have an opportunity to participate in a mock milking station, feeding a calf, and to see what life is like every day on a Wisconsin dairy farm. A lunch consisting of pizza, milk and apple slices will be provided, as well as a sampling of other dairy products.
