MONROE - Habitat for Humanity of Green County said it received a generous response to its recent First Annual Spring Donation drive.

Residents of Green County donated kitchen items, household appliances, tools, tables, chairs and gardening equipment. Shelving, vanities and toilets were among the most common donation. There were many small donations such as light fixtures and small hand tools. Larger donated items were picked up for free by a Habitat for Humanity truck.

Habitat for Humanity is urging Green County residents to not only continue their generous donations but to purchase items from the store. With the increase in donated inventory, there are many items from which customers may choose. Profit generated from store sales enables Habitat for Humanity to perform projects for the area, helping many Green County residents with home repairs, additions and constructions.

Habitat for Humanity of Green County's Resale Store is at 1001 30th St. in Monroe. The store is open from 1 to

6 p.m. Thursdays, from noon to 7 p.m. Fridays and from

9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The phone number is 608-329-4024 and the email is Store@greencountyhabitat.com.
