Optimist fishing clinic, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Lake Montesian, Monticello. For ages 5-13. May meet at lake or ride bus from Monroe Public Library at 9 a.m. Permission slips required. Lunch and prizes provided; children must supply fishing gear and bait.

"Stamp out Hunger" Food Drive, all day, Monroe. Postal carriers will leave bags the previous week; place non-perishable food items in the provided bags and leave by the mailbox.
