MONROE - To help raise awareness on the topic of colon health, Dr. Rikkers, general surgeon, and Laura Holverson, dietitian, will present "Navigating the Digestive Tract: Simple Steps to Colon Health" as part of Monroe Clinic's Health Advantage series. The event will take place at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec.10, in Founders' Hall, located in the lower level of clinic building at 515 22nd Ave., Monroe.
"Colorectal cancer claimed over 50,000 lives last year, but many of these lives could have been saved through awareness and screenings," said Andrew Rikkers, DO.
The presentation will cover a wide range of colon-related health topics, including life-saving screenings, food choices, and an overview of how the colon works.
