MONROE - Monroe Clinic, has joined the Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) and, along with 28 healthcare systems across Wisconsin, has committed to tracking and publicly reporting key healthcare performance and cost measurements. The overall goals of the collaborative are to improve patient care by sharing best practices among healthcare providers and to provide comparative data to help Wisconsin residents make good healthcare choices.
Monroe Clinic has recently submitted its data on four key areas of care: diabetes, uncomplicated hypertension/blood pressure control, postpartum care, and screening adults for tobacco use.
According to Dr. Mark Thompson, Monroe Clinic's Chief Medical Officer, Monroe Clinic joined the collaborative because of the clinic's strong commitment to quality. "We understand the value of working with other providers who all have one common vision - that by focusing on improving quality, better care for patients and more rational costs will result. The real benefit lies in using the data to identify how each member can drive further quality improvements and to positively influence the healthcare industry in Wisconsin," he said.
Monroe Clinic's data is publicly available through the WCHQ Performance and Progress Report, which is available online at www.wchq.org/reporting.
