MONTICELLO - What's better for a cold winter day's meal? Chili.
The ladies of the Washington Reformation Church Women's Guild will be serving steaming pots of chili in addition to an ala carte menu of hot dogs, cheese sandwiches (including limburger), homemade pie, ice cream, coffee, pop and milk from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at the church.
Something new this year is the opportunity to buy chili in pints for $2, quarts $4 or a whole bucket for $10. Orders for containers of chili can be placed at church on Sunday, Jan. 25 or on Sunday, Feb. 1 with the service beginning at 9:15 a.m. Orders can also be placed by calling 938-4550.
Office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Friday or leave a message. Orders need to be picked up on Saturday, Feb. 7 or Sunday, Feb. 8 at the church.
The Women's Guild will also have a craft sale and bake sale during the hours the meal is being served. A raffle is held each year at this event. Tickets are $1 per ticket or six tickets for $5 participants.
