Black Hawk homecoming set for Sept. 29 to Oct. 4

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk School is celebrating homecoming the week of Sept. 29 through Oct. 4.

The public is invited to come to help the Warriors celebrate a true school and community event. Call 608-439-5371 with any questions.

The theme is "Survivor." Special days planned are: Sept. 29, neon day; Sept. 30, nerd day; Oct. 1, gender bender; Oct. 2, class/color theme; and Oct. 3, spirit wear.

Class colors and themes are as follows: Seniors, black, tropics; juniors, red, desert; sophomores, orange, arctic; freshmen, purple, volcanic island; middle school, deep sea, blue; fifth grade, black; and booster club, Gilligan's Island.

Oct. 2 is Pack the Gym Night and Support Black Hawk Food Pantry Night. Everyone who attends the girls volleyball game will receive free admission with a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Black Hawk Food Pantry.

After lunch on Oct. 3, Student Council Field Day will be held. From 7 to 8 a.m., there will be football activities for children in grades kindergarten through sixth grade. Girls Powder Puff Dodge Ball will be held at 7 p.m. Pep rally is set for 8 p.m. in the gym. Fireworks will be held at 9 p.m. with music by Long Hard Ride.

A car show is set for 9 a.m. Oct. 4. Other activities on Oct. 4 include youth flag football at 9 a.m. and junior high football at 9:30 a.m. A parade will be held at 11 a.m. starting at St. John's Catholic Church, South Wayne. For more information, call 608-439-5371 ext. 425. The Pecatonica/Argyle Vikings football team will play against the Black Hawk Warriors at 2 p.m. Court will be presented at halftime. A dance will be held at 7 to 11:30 p.m. in the lower commons of the high school. The cost is $3 per person and $5 per couple.
