The Black Hawk Forensics team closed out its 2010 competitive season with two state competitions on April 16 and 17. Fourteen members of the team advanced to the Wisconsin High School Forensics Association state festival held on April 16 on the UW-Madison campus. After speaking at the 5:30 session, the team hopped on a bus and traveled north to compete at the Wisconsin Forensics Coaches Association state tournament at Ripon College the next day. At this event, after speaking in three preliminary rounds, four team members advanced to the semi-finals: Adrianna Hromadka and Nicole Kloepfer in play acting, and Kate Quinn and Jorden Rupnow is serious solo acting. Rupnow advanced to the final rounds, earning second place out of 36 total contestants. Overall, the team finished fifth in Division III. Judging for the team were Anthony Petitjean, and Black Hawk alumni Brianna Ditzenberger, Savannah Ernzen, and Sammantha Noble. The team will finalize their season with an awards banquet on May 11.
